About Invermay Guest House

A stunning Art Deco shorefront guest house overlooking beautiful sandy beaches situated in the heart of Whiting Bay, Invermay offers extremely comfortable accommodation and wholesome breakfasts together with breathtaking views of Holy Isle and the Ayrshire coast. Our aim at Invermay is simple: to provide the very best that a welcoming family run guest house has to offer at affordable prices.

Walking, golf, family breaks or simply those wanting “to get away from it all” - whatever you are looking for in your Arran holiday, we can provide the base for a memorable and rewarding experience.

Whatever your requirements, we hope we can meet them at Invermay. The house itself is an outstanding Edwardian (1905) early 'art-deco' listed building of significant architectural importance, and with many original features. We have a range of spacious and well-appointed bedrooms on offer - most of the rooms have en-suite facilities, all have television and the necessary features to ensure your stay is one you will wish to repeat. A full Scottish breakfast is available, utilising locally produced ingredients wherever possible.

It is of great importance to us that our guests feel at liberty to go out and explore the delights that Arran has to offer, or simply feel able to unwind in the spacious surrounds of the house. We offer two public lounges (one of which has a magnificent view of the bay - a fantastic place just to sit and watch the sea and wildlife), a garden in which guests can relax any time and an idyllic sun patio overlooking the beach. Our breakfast room also enjoys superb views over the bay.

There are several quality restaurants within just a few minutes walk. To sustain you after your stroll, hike, ride or round there are two public bars within similarly easy reach, not to mention two tea-rooms within the heart of the village. Whiting Bay itself is surrounded by woodland, hillside and shorefront trails for cyclists and walkers/hikers of all types. The spectacular Glenashdale Falls are also nearby. There is a superb golf course behind the village (a 10 minute walk) which welcomes visitors, and we are usually able to supply clubs for the more ‘casual’ player. We have facilities available for walkers and cyclists including drying room and safe storage for cycles or golf clubs. Packed lunches are available upon request.

Away from the village, we are only 5 minutes drive from Lamlash, which also offers a variety of bars and public houses, restaurants, a further quality golf course, numerous walks and rides as well as the ferry crossing to Holy Isle. Brodick is a further 5 minutes on by car with yet more pubs, restaurants, the local brewery and shops for the discerning visitor.

Whiting Bay benefits from the excellent and regular bus service to and from Brodick, Lamlash and Blackwaterfoot. There are also first-rate taxi services available locally.

Should you require it, we can collect you from the ferry terminal by prior arrangement.
